Annie Wheeler

Annie Wheeler graduated from USU with an art degree, married her sweetheart and is now a stay at home mom to three great kids. After having kids she quickly realized the time for her long, creative sessions in the art studio were gone. Lino cuts became her new passion because she could work on them in small increments. Using a wood cut of the temple she received as a gift, she decided to try her hand at carving an image of the temple. Annie uses linoleum blocks because they are easier to carve due to her carpal tunnel syndrome. Annie chooses images and titles that are meaningful to her and her favorite print, "The Light of the World”  reminds her of her childhood in the Avenues of Salt Lake, and the direct view of the temple from First Avenue. She also chooses colors and simplifies lines to create a more modern interpretation.
